John 10:10 “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full”

A shared experience, a powerful breakthrough, a lifelong journey; the ministry of Camp Lone Star creates opportunities
for people of all ages and backgrounds to cultivate real life, rooted in and centered on Christ.

Since 1941, God has been transforming the lives of youth and adults through the ministry of Camp Lone Star. What started as a brush-filled tract of 50 acres on the Colorado River has grown into a thriving ministry with two locations, serving over 10,000 guests annually. When campers and guests recount their experience out at Camp Lone Star, it is rarely about the scenic beauty of the land, or the functional buildings for meeting, eating, and sleeping. Instead, we constantly hear from campers, summer staff, and retreat guests that they don’t want to leave Camp to go back to the “real world”. For them, Camp provides an atmosphere of authenticity in relationships. At Camp, they experience personal and spiritual breakthroughs. Most importantly, at Camp they experience growth in Christ. This is different from the “real world”. At Camp Lone Star you too can experience real life.

Over the past several years, we have spent time seeking input and seeking the Lord’s will for the future of Camp Lone Star. Through this process, we have identified several campus improvements that will enhance our ability to better serve our guests and carry out our mission. We are excited about these campaign projects but even more excited about the mission-furthering impact they will have to cultivate real life for generations to come.

  • CONSTRUCT NEW STAFF HOUSING: As a result of this campaign, we will be able to retain and recruit the highest caliber staff to serve at Camp Lone Star. Our dedicated team will have the security and comfort of home allowing them to fully focus on providing the highest quality service possible to our campers and guests.
  • CONSTRUCT NEW BASE CAMP DINING HALL: As a direct result of constructing a new Base Camp Dining Hall, our campers will be able to experience an hour more of adventurous Christ-centered experiences in their summer camp days. This will also allow our summer camp families and guests to check-in for camp in a comfortable, air-conditioned space.
  • RENOVATION & EXPAND THE RETREAT CENTER: As a direct result of renovating and expanding the Retreat Center, we will have the ability to serve 1,000 more guests annually and provide a larger meeting space for our retreat guests.

We will worship the Lord together and participate in a prayer walk around the proposed campaign sites. Our time will conclude with a catered lunch paired with stories of how this ministry has been cultivating real life and how this campaign will further that impact for even more generations to come. At the end of this time, we will invite you to prayerfully join us in being a part of this campaign.

God has done amazing things to cultivate real life over the last 80 years at Camp Lone Star, and our mission to transform lives through adventurous Christ-centered experiences has been at the heart of all that we do. It’s a place and ministry where seeds of faith are planted, Christian leaders are raised up, and the Kingdom of God grows. As a result of this expansion and growth from this campaign, more individuals, families, and groups will be served, and more lives will be transformed for the sake of the Gospel. We can’t do this without you. Your generosity will have an eternal impact for generations to come. Join us as we cultivate real life!
