BBQ & Auction Fundraiser

The last 3 months have been quite the adventure with many twists, turns, ups, and downs along the way. Beginning of May, we weren't sure it would be possible to have summer camp at all. Yet God has graciously opened the door for summer camp.

One of the highlights of the summer at Camp Lone Star is our annual BBQ Fundraiser. This event serves as our largest gathering of friends and family as well as our largest fundraiser for the ministry. While we look forward to this event each year, we also recognize that this is a unique year with unique challenges. As a result of the restrictions in place, and out of great concern for health and safety, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Annual BBQ Weekend. This decision was not made lightly but was made because we are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our supporters, friends & family, and staff members. Even though our Sunday morning worship service takes place outside, we have some other obstacles, including keeping distance in our food serving lines and our auction space.

Isaiah 43:19 says "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert."

We believe that God is indeed doing a new thing, here and now in the summer of 2020. While we may not be able to hold our traditional BBQ Fundraiser, but we still want to invite you to be a part of supporting this ministry and share in the stories of life-transformation here at camp. During the month of July, we are launching the By Faith Fundraising Campaign. Camp relies heavily on the financial support raised during BBQ Weekend.

Last year, over $90,000 was raised to support the operational expenses and ministry of Camp Lone Star. In the month of July, we have set a "By Faith" goal of $92,000. We truly believe that God is doing a new thing here at Camp Lone Star.

Throughout the month of July on our social media pages and email newsletters, you will hear how God has been using this ministry during the last year, as well as the incredible ways He is making a way for the future of Camp Lone Star, even in the midst of a pandemic.
